Personal History:

I am the Queen Ant. I am a challenger; I point things out that others don’t. I have an intention to teach. I see potential in you that you don’t see yourself. My job is to cut through the bull ---- and make you be there to participate, to plan.

I was a Secondary school Teacher for 10 years and coordinator of Year 7. In the late 1980’s I was the first & only female agency manager for all insurance companies for 5 years that ran a male & female sales division in all of Australia and New Zealand. It was very lonely being a female during this era.

I have been in the industry since 1987 and have gone through 3 corrections of the market. My most successful years in the business have been in the recessionary times. This is uncommon in our industry. My clients have been well educated to stay in the market and understand the importance diversifying. It’s not the timing of in and out of the market, but how long you stay in the market.

If you had to describe me you would probably use the words colorful, solid, funny and caring. I go out of my way not to look like a planner. Sway away from suits, love variety and my shoes.

Favorite Planning Experience:

Probably one of my favorite experiences was a client who I had advised had taken out an insurance policy for life and critical illness many years ago in the early 1990’s.

I had not seen her in years and made one of my many calls to catch up with her. I finally got onto her one night and said it had been hard to contact her. She said she had been ill. I asked what had been the matter with her. She told me cancer.

I was pretty sure that night because of how I advise that there would be critical illness insurance, but wanted to re-confirm it that she did have it I before I told her that she was covered. I checked the policy the next day. I had the happy outcome to ring her and tell her that we would be putting in a claim for the cancer.

The claim was paid and it was over $300,000 deposited into her bank. She and her family are now secure and she is still in remission, house paid off, renovated, retirement secure and able to go back to their homeland to visit family. It reassures me once again and to my team that insurance is vital and an intrinsic process in the financial planning for clients.
